Hey Marco Tell Us How You Really Feel – Scathing Kindle Review
From Marco Arment’s: A human review of the Kindle Fire
“But that’s just about all I can say for it. It’s a bad game player, a bad app platform, a bad web browser, a bad video player, and, most disappointingly, a bad Kindle.
If I didn’t need the Fire for Instapaper testing, I’d return it.”
OUCH!
Of course Apple didn’t invent the tablet, but they sure defined it.
Tablets before and after the iPad.

One more for the “Flash Sucks on Mobile” File – Toshiba Thrive
From Walt Mossberg’s Toshiba Thrive Review:
“Unlike the iPad, the Thrive will play Adobe Flash videos and websites, but, as with other Android tablets, this capability varies unpredictably. Some Flash videos played well, others poorly or not at all. A couple crashed the browser. And the beautiful Picnik photo-editing website, which depends on Flash, wouldn’t work at all.”
iOS or Android – What Do You Want Your Tablet To Do?

From the iPad uninitiated I’ve been asked many times, “What does it do?”
Sure, I can show off some pretty cool apps and games and get a lot of wow reactions but ultimately I end up responding, “What do you want it to do?”
This is a major shift in the idea of what a personal computer means to the user. Yes, I believe the iPad is the most personal computer ever sold: with the multitude of free or inexpensive apps available via the App Store the iPad is, in many ways, a limitless device. Given its relatively small size it is easy to have with you at all times. Case in point, I’m typing this blog post on my iPad while I’m on lunch break from my day job.
So where am I going with this?
Well, I’ve also seen articles and have heard questions about wether or not users should purchase an iPad or one of the many to come Android alternatives.
It’s my opinion this question can be answered by Justin Williams over at Carpeaqua who has compiled a list of native Honeycomb apps (Google’s official Android tablet OS) as of now that list includes 20 apps.
Apple has 65,000 native iPad apps.
So what do you want your tablet to do?
It’s just a big Android phone
Look familiar?
Apparently the cry from many doubters of “it’s just big iPhone/Touch” after the debut of the iPad has fallen on deaf ears. iPad is a runaway success and everyone wants a piece of the Apple pie. There are many tablet/slate devices in the works and it looks like Sammy’s Galaxy Tab will be one of the first out of the gate. My only real knock is that the physical design looks almost exactly like the iPad. I guess imitation is the way Sammy is poising themselves to make this “new platform” fly. Personally I think they should have gone another route and designed a product that sets itself apart from the iPad.
