‘Iron Man 2′ – Review
The original Iron Man was a surprised for me as well as a lot of movie goers. Iron Man was never the top echelon of heroes but a great mix of Robert Downey Jr., killer action and heavy doses of Rock n’ Roll made Iron Man work. How does #2 stack up. I’m happy to say, very well. I’m not going to go into the details of the story here. If you’re interested you can find that elsewhere. I’m just going to say that if you enjoyed anything about the first you will equally enjoy the second.
Robert Downey Jr. was born to play Tony Stark and he’s in top form here. His chemistry with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts is genuine and the addition of Don Cheadle as Lt. Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes adds some great chops to the mix. The action is intense and inventive there were several parts were I literally yelled, “Woah.” The jokes are actually funny and help keep things from getting too heavy. The Rock n’ Roll Hero is back and he’s firing on all cylinders.
Bottom Line: A worthy sequel that continues where the original left off… Fans rejoice.
Rated PG-13: In theaters now.
